Eye Nagar – A symbol of myth and reality

The whole world has been shaken extraordinarily with evil spread of Covid 19. In the struggle for existence, a huge number of teachers converted themselves vegetable or meat vendors, motel keepers, street sellers of fruits, commuted vehicle drivers etc., to get their livelihood. The software quite well off guys became serious onlookers of wanted columns. The labor community struggled a lot to survive either to live on in cities or to go back to native villages. Similarly the business community in the second and the third levels, the occasional professional technicians, the artisans and what not entered into a tough phase which had never been expected and even in dreams also. The religious shrines also touched null patronage in that period.  

On the other side of coin, a number of batches formed to take advantage of the uncontrolled situation. Some hospitals grabbed lakhs of rupees mercilessly from suffers of Covid 19. Some crooked intellectuals made Covid 19 ID card as a safe protector from the illness and started online and offline opulent business.  Some camouflaged social workers took the opportunity to fill up their own pockets in the name of Covid 19 helping fund.

In the light of such the above grave frauds, it is strongly wished that anyone should not be a comfortable prey in the trap of hoaxers. Even some real names are used here, it is a pure imagination and just to explain how a pretender can mix the reality with his own logic of fraud and there was no resemblance to the persons or the places which really having such names.

A low middle class temple priest living in a remote village of Rayalaseema, Porupalli, was affected very much by the lock and the unlock guidelines. His income graph almost touched x-axis since no auspicious event in any house or any festival in his temple, which was his scope of earnings, took place.  Thus he planned a new scheme to retrieve his sources of income.

One day, on which the visit of the Sarpanch of village was expected to his temple, he laid a new deity in the sanctum sanatorium and adored it with flower garlands, sandal ointment, fragrance incense sticks and oil lamp.

The Sarpanch, in his temple visit, looked at the new deity and was surprised anon. He questioned the priest what it was duly showing the new idol and while handing over the offerings basket brought from his house.

“It is the new God and I started worship from today onwards”, the priest replied.

“But to my sight, the idol seems an English small letter ‘e’... really!”, he partly questioned again. But unknowingly his attitude was changed significantly on the idol from disbelief to pious. He tapped his cheeks with cross hands in a mood of compunction.

“As the time lapses, eras will be completed. As an era completed, the righteousness will be changed. As the righteousness changed the transactions will be modified. As the transactions modified, the methods will be revised. This phenomenon is applicable not only for human beings but also for the God.

That is why the Almighty had incarnated in the letter ‘e’ in this decade. So our devotion is also to be altered to tune the new posture of the Lord. I found it after a great research.”

“Nice. I am pleased. Can it be substantiated with any corollary?”

“Sure sir. You married your two daughters. Well, could you identify any interesting thing in the two marriages?”

“Yes. I struggled a lot to do marriage of my elder daughter whereas marriage of my second daughter was an easy task by virtue of god blessings. Whatever it might be, I was so happy for the both.”

“Well Sir. Now I give my explanation. The name of your elder daughter is Mrs. Rangamamba. Your younger daughter name is Mrs. Seshamamba. Because of the letter ‘e’ in the name of younger daughter, you could do her marriage very easily. So the God took the form of ‘e’ for his incarnation in this decade.”

The Sarpanch laughed very much constantly for the attributions given to the marriages of his daughters.

“Please do say such kidding stories. Is it believable that marriage of my younger daughter was the cause for incarnation of the God in the posture of ‘e’?”, later he requested the priest. 

“Yes. You are right sir. Everyone believes and behaves like you until self-realization of the play directed by the God. I explain it further.

Just recollect what kind of and type of games and sports were played in your childhood... They were almost of outdoor and involved physical movements of entire body. Now compare them with the same of what your grand children are playing now. Their plays involved in virtual screens without any hard physical activity. Quantify the differences. Similarly, make comparison of amusements, past times and hobbies between you and your grand children. You can notice many changes were unpredictable.

The same is true in case of the God also.

Till the late 1970s, the Lord Ayappa was not known to anybody in our State. Now we can see here innumerable temples and uncountable devotees of Him.

Was there any temple or devotee earlier here for the Muslim sufi Shirdibaba?   In the beginning, a small idol of Baba was placed at nook in temples of other gods.  A few people were used to worship the idol in past. Now there are many splendid shrines of the Baba all over including remote corners. The ancient deities took secondary place in worship in any multiple temple complexes. Why it all was happened? Changes are common and natural in case of God also. The enlightened catch this metamorphosis quickly, but the layman understands it gradually.”

“Alright sir, I am convinced. But ... Why the God could have not taken his incarnation in form of any other of Baba or Swamy in his metamorphosis?”

“The God is the omnipresent. He is indifferent to anything. Have not you remembered the Lord Narayan came out from a post before his incarnation, Lord Narsimha? The God has own choice to incarnate.  Now our discussion-point is why the letter ‘e’ had been chosen and not any rest of the alphabet?

Please listen to me carefully. I explain it further. Na vistnuhu prudvipathihi which means no one can be a leader without the properties of Lord Vistnu. Now our PM and CM are Shri Naredra Modi ji and Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy ji. They are our present leaders because the property of God in the form of letter ‘e’ is available in their names. Please observe, the critics are also giving stress to call the CM Jagan Reddy because of the letter ‘e’ in Reddy. Now recollect the other contestants of PM and CM in the last elections. They were Rahul Gandhi, Chandrababu Naidu, Pavan Kalyan, K.A. Paul. Have you noticed the absence of the letter ‘e’ in their names? Thus it is the factor for them not to become present ruling leaders (Dear readers please note that it is a pure myth.)

In administration, we often enchant the letter ‘e’ like e-office, e-payment, e-ticket, e-paper, e-bank, e-passbook, e-prayer, e-procurement, e-tender, e-business, e-commerce, e-elections, e-court and what not.

So realise that the God gives his appearance in the form of ‘e’. If we adore worship accordingly, we will be blessed with a number of boons from the God ‘e’. You could see late that how miracles will be done now onwards in our village because the worship of ‘e’ god.”

“I am totally impressed. I too follow you and adore the ‘e’ god. But a small doubt. The English letter ‘e’ is not of native and hence a suspicion of other religion….”

The priest got a chance to laugh in his turn. “No Sir. Kindly skip your doubt… In our country, we follow a different custom and practice. If anybody questions you that you are doing wrong, you will have to encounter a question asking what was done by you or other in the past. That is enough. The matter will be settled without any conclusion of right or wrong. Here nobody has guts to accept one’s wrong or mistake with wise mind or declare firmly what one had done is absolutely correct. The same logic can work out here. Quote the example of marriage of Bibi Nanchari and Lord Balaji. Illustrate the idol worship of the Muslim Baba in the Hindu shrines. Explain the adoption of nun culture into Brahm Kumari Samaj. So in any way, worship of the god, ‘e’ is not out of order of our religion.”

“Well said, well said. I have one more doubt. My name is Chanti Babu, my wife’s Durgamma. There is no symbol of the god, ‘e’ in our names. Can we add now the letter ‘e’ in our names?”

“No. It was to be in your names from the start. Here is a correction to the rule. To have blessings of the ‘e’ god, you name must be included with an English word. So rename Chanti Babu as Elephant Babu and Durgamma as Eggamma. Then only we will be benefited with the new God.”

Thus a new devotee and a new devotion were evolved in the society.

All cannot take up the work of reforms in the society. The most will be remained followers. Only the intelligentsia can shoulder the responsibility. So flourish or degrade of any society be laid in the hands of intelligentsia.

As the sheep trusts its butcher, the common believe such crooked intellectuals and be trapped in their quick pond. It is again the responsibility of another intellectual to get them rid of. Until then, the pettiness will be everlasting.

The root cause for all such distorts is irrational thinking of grab to more and more benefits for paltry investment or struggle.  The God is the omnipresent. In spite of this fact, if someone preaches that Visa (a mandatory to visit other than own country) can be obtained without difficulty by circumambulations in a particular shrine, everyone will be ready to do like that without showing any maturity. Similarly many other things like investment of just ten rupees to get 100 items worth more than 10 thousand rupees, play rummy and be fabulous, lotteries, land ventures, sheep rearing, lucky dips and so on are popular traps in our society.

The villagers of Porupulli and its surrounding villages began to worship the ‘e’ god as professed by the priest. Even though the results were varied, only the witnesses of faithfulness were publicised prominently. The strategy of the priest neared its target. He got his income more than in past.

After some days, with the assistance of surpanch, the name of village, Porupalli was changed ‘Eye nagar’ to gain more popularity and be in race of future capital of the State. For this, the priest made certain arguments. The famous shrines in the state like Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Simhachalam, Amaravathi do not have the properties of the new ‘e’ god in their names. So no one of these was selected for new capital, the ruling place of the leader alias the God. The proposed capital cities Kurnool and Visakhapatnam also lacked the imprint of the new god. Hence the name change of his village will ultimately benefit to finalise in the decision of the state capital.

As already explained earlier, the-priest-made sheep followed his arguments. Apart from that, a few months later, the value of lands in Eye nagar and its vicinities boomed up beyond expectations.
